've been training with Scott for two years now and I see improvements on the ice and field with my speed and cuts. My agility and overall athleticism has increased as well as my overall strength. I'm the most in shape I've ever been and have maintained my body weight while transforming into a more athletic build. I have shoulder issues from hockey and Scott is great with injury prevention, recovery, and always adjusts workouts to where I am comfortable.

Scott has been training me for the last three years and each year has helped me tremendously with sports specific training. My cuts have been faster, I've gained 40lbs, and I'm a better over all athlete after training with Scott. His injury prevention has also helped me maintain my body during a long season. If you want to be trained by the best to perform at your highest level he is your guy.

Several years ago, my son decided that he wanted to play football in college. Jack had enjoyed early success in high school but was looking for the type of instruction that could potentially turn him into an elite player. He followed the high school strength and conditioning program and worked with a trainer but the routines were generic and geared towards a wider audience. Jack was looking for specific training for his position.

Through friends, we heard about Bosse Sports. Their son was an outstanding golfer and had wonderful things to say about the trainers at Bosse. Soon thereafter, Jack attended an introductory session and he was paired with Scott McCartney. The atmosphere at Bosse was warm, friendly and the facilities were first class. From the very beginning it was easy to see that Scott was a bright, accomplished personal trainer. He conducted a full evaluation of Jack's strengths, weaknesses, flexibility and imbalances. It was very thorough evaluation and uncovered several areas where Jack could improve his skills and potentially avoid future injuries.

Through hard work, motivation, and a disciplined approach to training, Jack began to see tremendous gains with Scott. At the Massachusetts High School Football Coaches Association combine, he broad jumped 9 feet, bench pressed 185 pounds 16 times and ran a 4.90 second time in the forty yard dash. Getting a 6' 3" 240 pound frame to move that quickly is no easy task and was made possible through Scott's tireless efforts.

As the season progressed, Jack continued to benefit from his training sessions with Scott. He played both offense and defense so being in top condition was a must. As a captain, he led his team to one of the best seasons in recent history and was named to the local All-Star teams. He was also voted Central Massachusetts MVP. Best of all, he remained injury free.

Colleges began to notice and inquires came in from Bentley, Brown, Carnegie Mellon, Colgate, Holy Cross and Wagner to name a few. In the end, Worcester Polytechnic Institute offered the best choice given Jack's academic and athletic interests. It is my belief that Scott's personal instruction and motivation played a major role in Jack's success on the gridiron and it was this success that drew the attention of the WPI coaching staff.

With two weeks to go before football camp begins, Jack is once again working closely with Scott. This time with a customized program designed to embody aspects of the WPI off season strength and conditioning program. I can't thank Scott enough for his efforts. From the very beginning he was professional, courteous and easily communicated his thoughts with my son.

Our 14 year old son suffered a knee injury during his first freshman year of high school during a football scrimmage. He suffered a broken knee cap and torn MCL. After his first surgery we exhausted all efforts at Physical Therapy for three months. Boston Children’s Hospital (BCH) Sports Medicine Department suggested we find a Personal Trainer. With a friend’s suggestion, we called and met with Scott to review the plan that BCH outlined. Scott’s knowledge of the injury was amazing, and he agreed to develop rehabilitation plan, as well as, forward a monthly report and videos of our son’s progress to the surgeon at BCH to assist in the assessment process. After two months of light training, and a second surgery to remove all hardware, Scott increased the rehab and training plan. Four months later, at the Boston Children’s Hospital assessment, our son was cleared for all activities without restriction. Though all the training and reconditioning efforts that Scott outlined, our son fully recovered from the injury and was able to attend the Boston College Football camp in preparation of the upcoming 2014 season. We would like to thank Scott McCartney for all of his effort in the rehabilitation of our son’s knee and leg muscles and we greatly appreciate and highly recommend Scott for all youth athletes.

Scott has been my son Noah's strength and conditioning coach since 2011, when he was in 7th grade. Every aspect of Noah’s physical development has been positively impacted. Scott’s program provided Noah with the additional confidence to compete for and earn a spot on both his high school varsity football and basketball teams, as a freshmen. Now in his Junior year Noah has attracted interest from a handful of division 1 college football programs. Scott and Noah have created a very close relationship in the gym. After 4 years, Scott has become a mentor for Noah.

Scott McCartney came highly recommended to us from parents of athletes in our area. Our daughter Emily is 14 years old and a competitive junior golfer. Near the end of her golf season, she started experiencing pain in the right side of her back. We went to Scott and he quickly determined what was causing the pain. Scott designed a workout program to strengthen her muscles and improve her flexibility, along with a nutrition plan for her to follow. Emily was told to keep a food journal for her first few weeks of workouts with Scott so he could make sure her eating habits were adequate for the amount of work she was doing. Emily worked out with Scott throughout the off-season as well as into the regular golf season. She gained muscle, strength, flexibility, and had a very successful golf season. Emily loves working with Scott because she likes how he has a great sense of humor, but is also tough at the same time. Our son Robbie is 13 years old and plays football, basketball, and lacrosse. He also enjoys Scott as much as our daughter. Scott personalizes each of the kid’s workouts to fit their sport and body. Robbie has gained speed and strength while working with Scott. He has had an amazing season in all of his sports and has more confidence in himself because of it. Scott knows how to motivate using praise and humor. Scott has a great rapport with the kids, and he encourages them to be their best. We are extremely happy we met Scott, and would strongly recommend his services.

My freshman year of high school, I suffered from what many call a career ending injury. I had torn both my ACL and meniscus in my right knee. A three sport athlete, I was determined to get back onto the field ASAP. Through the dedicated work of my trainer Scott McCartney, I trained before my surgery working my core and upper body and was able to stay my active self while waiting for my surgery date. After my surgery, Scott welcomed me into the gym while I was still on crutches and accommodated my workouts and rehabilitation. Scott made me a promise that if I worked hard and followed all of my workouts, I would be able to play in the big tournament that I had my heart set on. Sure enough, six months later I was flying down to the biggest field hockey tournament in the country. Trough the training from Scott, I fully recovered from my injury and was able to play against some of the best athletes in the country with confidence and no complications. I am beginning my fifth year training with Scott. I have become a disciplined, strong and tough in all aspects of my game. Now, I am a Division 1 student-athlete at University of Lowell.
